Aspen, Lime and Oak explore the wild and wacky world of Roald Dahl.

This term in Aspen, Lime and Oak we are basing much of our curriculum around the works of Roald Dahl. This will involve reading such favourites as “Georges Marvellous Medicine”, which presents lots of opportunities for exploring mixtures and solutions, “The Witches” or ” The BFG” which lend themselves to character studies and sequels, and “James and the Giant Peach” as a stimulus for researching ocean currents. For art we will be learning to draw in the style of famous Roald Dahl illustrator Quentin Blake and Japanese manga cartoons. Of course we mustn’t forget our celebration at the end of the topic – a performance of “Revolting Rhymes” and a banquet of homemade revolting cake recipes for our invited guests.
