Welcome to Apple Tree Class

A VERY BIG WELCOME TO APPLE TREE CLASS FROM:
Mrs. Strand, Mrs. Essery, Mrs. Hayward and Mrs. Romero,
This half term as we welcome our new children, we will be getting to know each other, making new friends and enjoy playing with our friends we know already. We will be learning the Golden Rules and how to keep them.
When we carried out our home visits back in the summer we found that a lot of the children loved reading story books. We could not resist including a fortnight on The Gruffalo – where we will recreate the story in the meadow, visit the Gruffalo Baker Shop, make masks and finger puppets of the Gruffalo characters.
We will then focus on Harvest for the next two weeks – we will learn how farming use to be undertaken in the past. We will enjoy playing in our farm role-play area, picking blackberries from the meadow and cook apple and blackberry crumble. We will paint sunflower pictures in the style of Van Gogh and look for signs of autumn in the meadow.
Plus so much more …
