Menu

From Monday the main front door and the doors from the foyer into school will both be unlocked at the end of the day at 3.05pm to give parents from Apple and Cherry Tree classes the opportunity to make their way down to their child’s classroom on time. However if your child is in Maple Class or beyond PLEASE DO NOT open the Maple Class door until the children start to come out.

Our security system is now up and running, so after 9.00am you will have to press the buzzer to gain access into school. Please remember that the main front door to the foyer will be open around 8.30am but children do need to be with an adult if they are in this area. The rest of the school will remain secure until 8.45am.

We will be holding Parent Interviews on Monday 1st March from 3.15 to 7.00pm. Lists for you to sign up for an appointment will be going up shortly.

On Wednesday 10th March we are holding an information evening for parents who are not familiar with Making Maths Make Sense, which is the maths scheme that we use in school. We look forward to seeing you and hope that we can explain what we do and answer any queries that you may have. The evening will run from 6.00 until 7.30pm.

I am pleased to inform you that Mrs. Strain will be back after half term but I would also like to say a big thank you to Ms. Gaskin and Ms. Green for doing such an excellent job covering her absence.

Next week we have to say goodbye to lovely Mrs. Fleming too but I am also pleased to inform you that Mrs. Lynn Worboyes will be teaching in Cherry Tree class on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays after half term. She has had lots of experience teaching that age group and we were very lucky to find her.

The governors will be interviewing candidates for the headship of Northwood School on Wednesday and Thursday of next week..

There are a number of after school clubs in the area over half term including Scallywags fun club at Love Lane. Ring Sarah Wherry on 530433 to book or for more information and Holiday Club Cool at Cowes Primary. Phone Maria on 07511709744.

A pink and white cupcake patterned tin has gone missing since the Haitian cake stall appeal. It is part of a well loved set of tins and belongs to Melody Smout’s mum if anyone knows of its whereabouts!

Please make sure you do not leave your engine running in your unattended car when using the school car park to drop off or pick up your children. Please also remember that the car park must only be used for dropping off at Early Birds before 8.30am. Thank you.

We have been asked to distribute leaflets about Kumon Maths. We are happy to do this however this should not be seen as an endorsement of the programme.

Cowes High School is offering indoor sports centre tennis and fencing coaching for children over half term. Phone Jo Drake on 293261 or 07901800192 for more information.

On a rather sad note a parent was rather rude to one of the governors when asked not to park dangerously outside school. What more can I say!!
