I have just returned from an inspirational headteachers conference on leading change and we all had the opportunity to visit Primary Schools on the mainland to see what they offer Year 5 and 6 children. I’m looking at ways of sharing some of this very informative experience with all of you.
Mrs Mumford had a baby boy yesterday! Bobby arrived in the early hours of the morning weighing 7lb 15oz. Congratulations to all of the Mumfords, especially Jimmy and Teddy on their little brother’s safe arrival.
So much has been happening in school this week. I am told that the ‘Living History’ day was a great success and our lovely penfriends from Southern Road have made their annual visit. It was so good to watch the children playing together last night in the school grounds and holding their talent show. Thank you to all the parent helpers who worked so hard to make this week so enjoyable. Once again your support makes such a difference.
The children will start to use the picnic benches for lunches again a class at a time, from Monday. This means that all Apple Tree children will have their lunch outside on Monday (weather permitting) including those children who have school dinners. On Tuesday it will be Cherry Tree class and so on through the school.
The Flora cooking with schools campaign will end in September so please keep collecting and bringing in the tokens until the end of term so we can get our free cooking equipment.
Please DO NOT park scooters by the front doors as one fell onto the glass door panel and broke it this week! They must be left by the fence where the bikes are.
I hope you all have a good weekend . Don’t forget it’s the Summer Fair tomorrow!
