Letter from Geeta
Come to school a different way.
Whole school picnic 14th May.
Grand opening of bike shed Friday.
Governors monthly surgery.

? Geeta has sent a lovely letter to everyone at Northwood to say thank you for our fundraising for the orphanage in Nepal. The letter will be displayed on the School Council Notice Board. I think you need to make allowances for her writing in English since I’m sure that she didn’t intend to refer to me as the ‘ancient’ head teacher!!

? Next week we have our ‘Come to School a Different Way’ week and I shall be outside catching inventive people with my camera!

? We are also holding a ‘Whole School Picnic’ on Thursday 14th May.

This will be an eco lunch and our cook is offering a choice of ham, tuna or cheese homemade rolls, fresh vegetable crudités, homemade cookie, fruit and a drink. We will all enjoy this on the school field (weather permitting). We will need to know numbers by Tuesday at the very latest. So please fill in the tear off slip and return it with the normal lunch payment of £1.70 on Monday.

? Come along to the grand opening of the bike shed by Cllr Alan Wells at 10.30 on Friday morning and don’t forget to come back at 1.30 for our Eco Afternoon. The children will be giving guided tours around the school outdoor environment and you can enjoy a delicious cream tea too.

? The Governors are holding their Monthly Surgery Session in the library on Friday afternoon from 3 – 3.45.

? Nits are about again! Please check your child’s hair regularly.

? Does anyone know of a company that services Rayburns on the Island? Please see Mrs Miles.

? Adult Learners’ Week is being held from 9th-15th May. It encourages thousands of adults whatever their age or background to give learning a go. If you go to www.niace.org.uk/alw/2009 you can find out about a whole range of activities taking place on the island during Adult Learners’ Week.

? Don’t forget to purchase your ticket for Ladies Night on Friday 15th May.

? On Monday we will be putting up a helpers list for our Northwood Academy sessions. If you can help in any way please do sign up. We hope to make it as successful as our Community Build project.
