   Welcome to Oak Team
Welcome to another action packed term in Oak Team. We started the term with an expected break for wintery weather which was inconvenient but at least we got chance to enjoy the snow!
Our theme this term is "Journeys" and we are starting this term by researching and using our Critical Skills to make presentations about Mozambique; in honour of oue new e pen pals in Miss Kay's class at the International school. We are aiming to discover about life and culture in Mozambique, including art, food and travel to and around the country.

We will also be planning our dream journey and sharing journeys that we have enjoyed aa well writing our own adverts for exciting destinations- after learning a few tricks of the travel agents trade!

Through stories. film, re-enactment and personal recollection we will be discovering about a very different type of journey- those undertaken by evacuees and displaced children during the Second World War as we research the causes of the war and the effects it had on the lives of children during the conflict. We will also be exploring faith and tolerance of religious belief in the past and today as we attempt to understand the actions of people in the past.

On a lighter note we will be starting our relationship with our pen friends in London by writing to children at Southern Road School, which for the first time will include children in Year 3. This will involve our Year 4s going on a journey to meet their pen friend just before the Easter holiday whilst Year 3 will probably be visiting the Imperial war Museum, which we understand has a suitable section for KS2 pupils. We will of course let you know details as soon as they are confirmed.
