Welcome to Oak Team
          This term in Oak team is non stop action, as usual. We have made our own African masks using papier mache taking ideas from a huge range of different kindly brought into school by the children. We have also created masks based on traditional Bhuddist designs- all using wallpaper paste, newspaper and a balloon!
                                        
                 We have also been researching all about Ancient Egypt, including Myths about the gods (gory), pyramids (hard work and gory), the afterlife (also gory) and not forgetting mummification( really really gory)!
                We have then used our facts to write in the style of a non fiction book:
                The Horrible History style.
                Here is a gory fact to upset your aunty- once you were dead the awesome Egyptians would extract your brain through your nose with a hook.
The question and answer style:
               Why did Ancient Egyptians make mummies?
               Ancient Egyptians made mummies so they could enter the Afterlife because they believed that without their body they could not live forever.
The You Wouldn't Want to be a Pyramid Builder style:
              After you have finished dragging the block across the sand, you begin the job of lifting it into place.

                                Forthcoming Events 
On the 3rd of April Year 3 will be visiting London to see the Tutankhamun Exhibition whilst Year 4 will be meeting up with their penfriends at Southern Road School and enjoying a trip around Upton Park, the West Ham United football ground.
