A VERY BIG WELCOME TO APPLE TREE CLASS FROM: Mrs. Strand, Mrs. Hayward, Mrs. Essery and Mrs. Romero

We are very excited about our new location in the Mobile; please do come along on Tuesday 1st September in the afternoon to have a look around.
As we welcome our new children, our first topic focus is ‘Marvellous Me’ we will be getting to know each other, making new friends and enjoy playing with friends we know already. We will be learning Apple class routines and remembering the Golden Rules and how to keep them.
We will be frying fish and chips in our Gourmet Fish and Chip Shop and painting our own portraits. We will be exploring every area of our new classroom, investigating inside and outside our new school and building secure and caring relationships with the adults.
The following two weeks we will focus on ‘Harvest Time’ and enjoy picking blackberries and apples in the school meadow. We will visit the School Allotment harvesting the vegetables. We will learn about healthy eating and make delicious vegetable soup and bake bread rolls after reading the delightful stories Vegetable Glue and the Little Red Hen.
Towards the end of term we move on to a new focus ‘You’ve Got a Friend in Me’ to support children’s friendship and social skills as they settle into Apple Tree.
We will contact you shortly regarding a Parent Curriculum Meeting which will help you to support your child in their first year at school.
This is such an exciting time as your child begins their school journey and we are looking forward to sharing it with you.
