Water, Water Everywhere!

Welcome back!

In Beech and Elm we’ve settled in to our new classes and splashed into the Autumn term with our Water topic.  Through the use of songs, drama, active challenges and art the children have already begun to learn all about the three states of water and the Water Cycle.

In the coming weeks we will continue to explore our Water theme  by carrying out a series of Science investigations and learning about local and global waterways; as well as looking at water transport,  water safety ( linked to swimming), water colour painting, water poverty, water as a source of power and water music. In Literacy, we’ll be enjoying Michael Morpurgo’s “Kensuke’s Kingdom” and packing in as much exciting learning as possible.

On Monday afternoons the children are lucky enough to have music lessons, with the Year 3’s learning the recorder and the Year 4’s learning the clarinet.

Just to let you know that we will soon be sending home Spelling Bees on a Friday which will be due in each Wednesday.

P.E takes place on a Monday and Thursday with Year 3 children swimming for the Autumn term. Please ensure that P.E kits are in school on these days.
