Years 5 and 6 news

Welcome to the Autumn term for the years 5 and 6. Our topics this term focus upon the Home Front during the Second World War. It will culminate in Aspen and Lime’s Living History Day in the Northwood WI Hall. The children from the two classes will be walked from the school to spend the day doing activities to help them understand more about school and life in the 1940’s.

Art activities will include colourful silhouette representations of the Blitz and thoughtful information posters about the Home Front life in the 2nd World War. In P E we will have a cycle of winter games inclyuding Tag Rugby, Football and Quicksticks Hockey. Indoor P E will be curcuit and fitness training, multi skills and sportshall athletics.

We have entered teams for the Island Tag Rugby (where our teams finished as runners up) , sportshall athletics and the Island Under 11 Football Cup competition.

Our use of I C T and computers will be ongoing, with the use of our class set of Net Books.
