Academy Conversion

It is with great pleasure that I am able to inform you that our Academy conversion has been approved by the Department for Education and that we will officially convert to an Academy on the 1st April. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the governors of the school for taking the lead in this new and exciting venture, Alex Moffat Consulting for project managing the process, Paris Smith solicitors for the legal work and our DfE project lead Lindsay Morris for her help and support. Because of their hard work (most of it behind the scenes), the school has been able to carry on entirely as normal and we haven’t had anything to distract us from our teaching and learning.

As you will be aware the main reason for conversion was to have the freedom that Academy Status allows whilst maintaining the unique ethos of our very good school. We would like to invite you to come and join us for our official Open Morning on Friday 3rd May. You are welcome to stay in school after you drop your children off and join in with the learning. At 10.00 am we will provide refreshments and at 10.30 there will be an opportunity to hear our new school song sung by the Academy Choir.
Please let the school office know if you would like to attend so that we have an idea of numbers. We will also be inviting members of the Island Community to come and join in with us too.
